Day 1– Drive to Geferssa ,the out skirts of Addis where you can the least seven of the endemic species can be seen including Blue winged goose and Black headed Siskin. Drive back to Addis for overnight.
Day 2– Drive to Awash National park. Enroute make a stop at Chelekelaka wetland to spot the Yellow billed stork, African spoon bill, Red-billed stork, Knob-billed Duck, Crowned Crane, bird , Black Crake, and White backed Duck and Hottentos Teal. Drive to Nazereth to have a lunch and then proceed to Awash national park. In thie low land and acacia woodland area over 350 species of bird have been recorded.The dominant birds in these areas are Abyssinian Roller, Red winged Bush Lark, Black Shouldered and Swallow tailed Kites. Overnight in the lodge
Day 3– Continue your visit at the national park to see more birds species .overnight in the lodge
Day 4– Drive to Langanoo lake .enroute make a stop over at Koka artificial lake and lake Zewai where huge number of water birds inhabit .some of the birds to spot are Storks ,Plovers, Egrets and Ducks. Overnight hotel in hotel at Langanoo.
Day 5– Drive to Lake Abijata which is a magnificent habitat for a wintering species of birds from Europe and North Asia. The spotted Eagle Owl, Rufus Crowned and Lilac-breasted Roller ,Bearded and Cardinal Woodpeckers, African Pygmy Falcon, Imperial Eagle ,Crested Francolin and Black –wood Hoopoe are amongst the varieties of birds inhabiting this area.Drive to Wondogenet for overnight.
Day 6- Full day birdwatching in Wondogenet forest.The endemic Yellow Fronted parrot and Abysinian woodpecker, Double toothed Barbet ,White- checked Turaco,Abysinian Ground Thrush,Narina`s Trogon,Spotted Creeper,Lesser Striped Awallow,Crowned Eagle,Ayer`s Hawk Eagle are the major birds species we are spoting in the area. Overnight in Wondogenet.
Day 7– Leave Wondogenet in the morning for Lake Awassa. Full day bird watching around Lake Awassa. Here you will see Grey Kestrel, Allen`s Gallinule, Lesser Moorhen, Blue Headed weaver,Grey headed and Giant Kingfisher are expected to be watched around the lake overnight hotel in Awassa.
Day 8– Drive back to Addis. Along the way a road side stops and at Hora lake in Debreziet.
